Join us at The Hub to delve into the music and story of Richard Wagners opera Tannhuser, ahead of its concert performance at the Usher Hall.
Richard Wagners romantic opera Tannhuser is the only one of his major operas never to have been performed at the International Festival. On the evening of 25th August, Deutsche Oper Berlin performs a concert version of the opera at the Usher Hall.
The opera contains some of Wagners greatest writing for chorus, along with outstanding solo numbers. American rising star tenor Clay Hilley performs the title role, joined by a cast of international opera singers.
Come by The Hub in the afternoon before the concert for a deep dive into the music, story and context of the opera.
The Hub is supported by Sir Ewan and Lady Brown together with Flure Grossart.
