Is science now at a point where we can eradicate Parkinsons? 2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the essay: The Shaking Palsy by James Parkinson. Research is now at a point where we know major mechanisms underlying the Parkinsons process and cutting-edge preventative therapies are being tested in the lab. We also now appreciate that Parkinson's actually starts many years, decades even, before the characteristic motor symptoms appear. Researcher Tilo Kunath (pictured, University of Edinburgh) and Parkinsons fundraiser John MacPhee will show how a foreseeable future without Parkinsons can be achieved.
