End to End

This surprisingly inspiring and uplifting true story is told by the people who lived it. They were women wanting to go against the stereotype (baby, husband and desperate to settle down) and somehow find themselves on an unforgettable journey. For no apparent reason they had decided to travel from Land’s End to John O’Groats, that’s a 874 mile journey, in 18 days; using as many forms of transport as possible with an extremely limited amount of money. This extraordinary story included a pink tractor, swinging through trees and being mistaken as strippers.

It's quirky and slightly awkward at times but Ria Ashcroft, Kristy Guest and Hannah Stone kept it moving. All likable and funny, each actress ended up feeling like a friend and they often broke the fourth wall to help us get more comfortable by providing cushions and blankets. Stone was particularly impressive, with a smile throughout the play and an ease on stage that made everyone feel relaxed. Although this play won’t have you belly laughing, you’ll walk away renewed and wondering what makes you feel at home?

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

The Blurb

Three women share the funny, heart-warming story of the unusual journey they made from Lands End to John O’Groats on as many varieties of transport as they possibly could. Trusting only to their resourcefulness and the kindness of strangers, they made an 18-day, 874-mile journey across Britain.“With wings wrought of wanderlust this show soars” (Fringebiscuit)
