DYKONIC at Royal Vauxhall Tavern
  • London Fringe

Indulge in a night of enchantment and temptation at the opening night of DYKONIC, your new destination for Last Thursdays! These events are for queer women, trans, and non-binary people. This September we are unleashing our first theme - Angels & Demons!

Unleash your inner desires by dressing up in innocent white to embrace the angelic side within you. Wear captivating black or daring red to showcase your darker, more mysterious persona. Let your imagination soar as you become part of this spellbinding world. Dressing to theme is always optional. Looking for inspo? Check out our vision board.

Looking to make some new friends? Join our WhatsApp Community to find group chats for all of our upcoming events, including DYKONIC! The night kicks off with a Pre-Party from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM where you can grab a discounted drink and meet up with some pals from the chat to spend the evening with! Anyone with a ticket to DYKONIC is welcome to join us for the Pre-Party.

Our event is not just about celebrating the vibrant queer community, but also fostering the growth of budding talent. During the social hour, a novice queer DJ will take the spotlight, offering them a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and set the tone for an unforgettable night.

As the clock strikes 8:00 PM, the transformation begins. Tables are cleared, making way for the dance floor where you'll surrender to the enticing beats of London's hottest queer DJs. Our music mix will be 60-70% pop, with the remainder being top-charting/well-loved songs from other genres like afrobeats, R&B, pop-punk, and alternative. We have also asked for MORE QUEER MUSICIANS and MORE QUEER CLASSICS!

Prepare yourself for a night of extraordinary queer performances that will leave you breathless. Our opening act at DYKONIC will always be an up and coming or novice queer performer selected from our performer applications. DYKONIC Angels & Demons opens with stunning Drag routines by two of the wonderful members of Dribs & Drags, a local drag troupe! Performances will begin at 9 PM sharp

But the excitement doesn't end there! Brace yourself for the incredible Necrodancers to take the spotlight. The angelic Miss Fortune will be performing an angelic burlesque performance wherein the audience takes part in her fall from grace, followed by the brilliant Scarlett, who will be performing a sizzling HOT HOT HOT acro chair burlesque performance as our sexy red demon.

We will also have some selfie stations set up outside, and an amazing photographer and videographer on site to capture the night. Photos and videos may be posted to our Instagram or TikTok account.

Safety & Wellness

We have reduced the number of ticket sales to adhere to a healthy, reduced capacity for Royal Vauxhall Tavern. We would like to make sure everyone is easily able to navigate to the bar, and that people are spending their night dancing, not queuing for the loos!

Water is readily available on the bar all evening - please stay hydrated.

There will be an outdoor space if you need to step away from the crowd and get some fresh air. The picnic tables are BACK! If there is poor weather, there will be a gazebo to cover this space.

There will be a staff member at the ticket desk all evening if you need welfare assistance, or if there is a safety concern. We will have earplugs and fidget toys for those who need. We have access to a small wellness area if you are in need of it, but you must be escorted by the welfare official.

You can find full accessibility information for this venue here. If you have access requirements or questions please contact [email protected].

There is a cloakroom available.

Concession Tickets/Pay It Forward

We do offer a limited amount of reduced rate/PWYC/free tickets for those who are unable to afford the full ticket price. We do not believe that money should be a barrier to Queer Joy.

Our pay it forward tickets include general admission for the person purchasing, as well as covering the cost for us to offer additional 1 free ticket or two reduced tickets to a queer in need.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
