The Life of St Margaret provides a unique insight into late 11th-century Scotland and her profound influence on her husband and his kingdom. This talk discusses Margaret's interaction with her husband, Malcolm III, her biographer, Prior Turgot, and her sons, three of whom, Edgar, Alexander I and David I, became kings of Scots. The Life of St Margaret tells the story of how an exiled Anglo-Saxon princess, in alliance with a powerful Scottish king, transformed the kingdom of Scotland in the later 11th century.
