  • London Fringe

Sophie (So You Think Youre Funny 2023 Finalist Funny Women 2023 Semi-Finalist) and Leigh (BBC New Comedy Regional Showcase & Live at the Queer Comedy Club for FrootTV) are Daddys Girls on the loose. With Sophies Dad in and out of prison and Leighs dead dad only contactable via the help of a clairvoyant, these girls are doing it for themselves and taking a split-bill to the fringe, because What, like its hard? Theyre ready to order the Business Woman Special and spice up your life in mens shirts and short skirts and be your fairy godmothers of comedy as they enter their drunk auntie eras and make you say, Man! I feel like a Woman! Out of the sea of fringe shows, they wanna be part of your world. Everyones invited because it does not say RSVP on the statue of liberty. Andrew Lynch, Sunday Business Post Ireland

Leigh Douglas is a queer Irish stand-up who likes making jokes about the English, Disney princesses and lesbians (with a light zesting of Catholic guilt). She appeared in Live at the Queer Comedy Club for FrootTV in the UK and OutTV internationally and was recently selected for the BBC New Comedy Regional Showcase. Her comedy short, Youre Alright Hun, won Best Micro Short at the Womens Comedy Film Festival: Atlanta and Best Short Short at the London Independent Film Festival. Sophie Garrad is a posh, stuck up and delusional comedian who is milking her chaotic childhood to make people laugh - oh and to try and get famous. Sophie turned out surprisingly snobby despite her dad being a proper cockney who's been in and out of prison... Oh and he is also partial to a secret family. So You Think You're Funny 2023 - Finalist, Funny Women 2023 - Semi-Finalist

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
