Estonian duo Ctlin and Marko Mgi join Scottish musicians Finlay MacDonald and Ali Hutton for an upbeat exchange of musical traditions.
Ctlin and Marko perform on the torupill (the Estonian equivalent of bagpipes), saxophone and the lesser-known jaw harp. Together they fuse tunes from hundreds of years ago with modern jazz improvisations. In dialogue, MacDonald combines his dedication to traditional piping with a sense of musical adventure, while Hutton is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist who specialises in guitar, whistle and bagpipes.
In unison, these four musicians uncover the synergies between Estonian and Scottish musical traditions.
