Concerts & Tours of St Michael's Victorian Church with it's fine stained glass & excellent acoustic.Tours of the church [11, 18, 25 May & 1 Jun] will be followed by a short Q&A. St Michael's church is known as 'The Cathedral of the backstreets' and for good reason.Concerts will be given by Dan Hodd - voice&violin [11 May]. Dan has quite literally busked the globe and he'll sing & play music from his travels. The popular York Road Band with Sally Beamish give us their eclectic mix of genres (18/5). Don't miss hearing the brilliant British pianist Simon Ballard in recital (25/5). Upcoming young soprano Daria Robertson & tenor Matt Connolly (Heber Opera soloist) sing operatic duets (31 May). Singer songwriter, record producer & composer Michael Wynne directs the UK premier of his new choral work 'Requiem' along with music by the wonderful Paul Chi (1/6).Tours: please arrive 10 minutes before the tour start time.Concerts: doors open 20 minutes before the concert. The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
