Welcome to the East End of London. In 1888 the Matchgirls strike leads the way in industrial action and the formation of the Trades Union movement, then in 1968 the women of Fords in Dagenham strike, leading to the introduction of equal pay legislation. In the East End the fire of change has been burning for over a century and its women have always known how to say we deserve more; we deserve better.Between the Matchgirls and the Ford workers, Sara Wesker formed the United Clothing Workers Union, was elected to the Communist Party of Great Britain's Central Committee and took part in the Battle of Cable Street. She also just happened to have a nephew who was a playwright. This is her story. It's the forerunner to "Made in Dagenham". And it has songs!

Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
