Carrot's Cake @ The K Hole
  • London Fringe

Get MORE than your fill of CAKE this July with an evening of birthday-themed queer cabaret with Carrot!

Party hats are strictly mandatory

Gracing the stage with their yamaha keyboard, Carrot will perform a whole host of noughties-tinted pop parodies and sing-alongs - plus a school disco dance-off, party games and a chance to take to the stage yourself after the show... best performance wins the karaoke crown and a free drink!

There will be cake.

Expect noughties nostalgia with a hint of the 2010s!

DRESS CODE: A noughties vibe is strongly encouraged. Party hats are compulsory. If you do not bring one we can provide you with one subject to availability please and thank you.

Best dressed person and best party hat wins a prize!

TICKETS

Tickets are priced as 'pay what you can' from 5, with suggested standard price of 10 (cos that's what I think I'm worth hehe). If you want to and can pay more, please do! Support queer artists! Or if you're feeling the pinch, feel free to pay less. No questions asked, no judgements!

ACCESS

The Karaoke Hole has gender neutral toilets, but is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible - it's in a basement bar accessible via stairs next to VooDoo Rays. Please note that this show will contain flashing lights and loud music. If there is anything else we can do to make this event more accessible to you, please email [email protected].

Please note this shows runs a strict DBAD (don't be a dick) policy, and is a safe space for LGBTQ+ people of all kinds. Come as you are, and you will be celebrated. Transphobia, homophobia, racism or any other ism will not be tolerated under any circumstances - and we reserve the right to ask disrespectful audience members to leave without refund.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
