Before there was Dracula... there was CARMILLA.Nearing his final hours, Doctor Hessellius recounts the mysterious tales of his casebook - in which he has battled for the salvation of the souls of others against dark and evil forces - the action begins to unfold around him; coming to life before our eyes as our protagonist, Laura, relives her experience of being drawn into and under the almost hypnotic power of the strange, but beautiful and ever-enigmatic Carmilla.Originally written in 1872 by Sheridan La Fanu and printed as a novella, this adaptation has been passionately crafted by Playwright, Author and Director, Laura J Harris and will premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2021, before being performed as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival 2021, including a live-streamed performance from The Boat Shed Theatre in Ellesmere Port.
