Carmen - Royal Opera
  • West End

Barrie Kosky directs Bizet's much-loved opera, with Jakub Hraa and Christopher Willis conducting two casts led by Anna Goryachova and Galle Arquez in the title role.

The young soldier Don Jos intends to marry Micala, a girl from his home village. But when he meets the sensual and fiercely independent Carmen, he sacrifices everything to be with her.

Carmen grows bored of Don Jos and falls in love with Escamillo. Unable to bear her leaving him, Don Jos tracks Carmen down and murders her.
