CARABINER: DYKE HALLOWEEN
  • London Fringe

Big Queer Picnic is proud to present our dyke club night London's lesbians, queer women, trans and non-binary people. This time, it's for the spooky queers.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST CARABINERA Dyke Halloween Club NightFriday 11th October10pm-2am(doors at 9pm for a pre-drinks hour at the venue where solo queers are welcome and there will be lots of opportunities to make friends!)Colours Hoxton

Calling all dykes and daddies, enbys and newbies, brats and bottoms, Carabiner is your new queer club night with no dress code, no fuss, no frills, just good music and a room full of dykes. Except this time there is a dress code, because Halloween.

Our theme for this year is 90s Scary Movies. Think Scream, Halloween, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Craft, Carrieget your Ghostface masks out and your silk slip dresses and get ready to run and scream.

If you have a burning costume desire that isn't on theme, feel free to play fast and loose with it, as long as you're feeling euphoric in your queerness, we'll be very happy to welcome you to this particular slasher flick.

Featuring our usual feast of 90s temporary tattoos, a polaroid station to capture your vintage gorgeousness and a few more spooky surprises to be revealed, come kick off spooky season with us. After all, for the queers, the whole of October is halloween.

Featuring performances from MACHO MEI, gogos CAT WHEELS and MISS LILY PHOENIX and a DJ set from EVE LANDIN, expect a mix of gay pop, slutty bangers and R&B.

Colours Hoxton is wheelchair accessible (by lift) and has a disabled loo. We have an access co-ordinator available at all times throughout the night if you need any help with this. Please purchase an access ticket if you have access needs and someone will email you to check in and see what we can do to make you comfy on the night.

PLEASE NOTE: All bags and coats must be checked into the cloakroom because they become a safety hazard when left around the venue.

Further access details will be posted in a dedicated instagram post on @bigqueerpicnic

Carabiner is a night for queer women, trans and non-binary people. Please do not bring cis male guests.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
