For that matter, the umbrella has proven a painters muse for centuries, not to mention a weapon adopted by the fair sex to defend themselves from ruffians and hooligans. Whether a sunshade or a parapluie, a royal accessory or a religious symbol, the umbrella has enjoyed a long and distinguished history. Elmwood Theatres ensemble reimagines the many uses of the umbrella by bringing to the stage a romping and vibrant work, one that embraces collaborative play through movement, song and text.
