We may not all read the Daily Mail, but many Brits still think that learning a second language is unnecessary. When it comes to young children, some of us even think its damaging. But research on bilingualism shows that learning a language when youre young can give you a range of advantages that will benefit you in later life. Can language-learning be a long-term investment in a better society? Will learning French when were three make us more successful in later life?
