This the second in a series of screenings and talks exploring gems of Polish cinema, hosted by Polish cinema expert Michael Brooke. We screen the film at Watermans' cinema and then Michael hosts an online talk and discussion the following evening where you can come and hear more about the film, and share your own thoughts. The film is charged at usual Watermans' ticket prices, and the online discussion is free. But please make sure you book tickets for both.
The second film up for discussion is the award-winning Bogowie (Gods). Winner of several awards at the Polish Film Festival in 2014, it is a Polish drama based on a true story about the early career ofpioneering cardio surgeon Zbigniew Religa.
Despiteharsh reality of the 1980s Poland, he successfully leads a team of doctors tothe country's first human heart transplantation.
