'Blue Balloons Pink' by Daisy Roe is an exciting piece of new writing making its debut at Brighton Fringe. The play follows Ash and Maggie in the sunny seaside town of West Wittering on the day of their baby shower. All Ash wants above his career, or even his relationship is to hold his baby boy in his arms. All Maggie wants is Ash. As young, first-time parents they must navigate the stresses of hosting a baby shower and gender reveal party, whilst preparing for their new child and straining under the weight of expectation. Pulled apart by their parents' expectations and friends' Facebook statuses, is there a way for them to band together through this chaotic evening? When the truth is inconvenient people delude themselves and others to preserve their desired reality.
