Blizzard Comedy LIVE, featuring Laura Monmoth
  • UK Regional & Tours

It has been one hell of a summer of previews already and we can't wait for our next regular live show on Monday 14th August

We're finally returning to our original stomping ground at Gullivers and we have a stellar line up of performers joining us!

Come along and see...

Headline act
Laura Monmoth
Laura Monmoth, Award-winning comedian. Player of bad games. Occasional speedrunner. Quiz host. Nostalgia-fuelled idiot. Creator of the cursed. Also, puppets and a cat named Clive, is a Multimedia marvel. Mixing slide projections, animations and channelling the energy of comedy greats to deliver first class comedy on everything from retro gaming to gender issues. Expect references to 90s pop culture, karaoke, on, and probably puppets. Niche enough for Gen X'ers that remember their childhood, and accessible enough for those who just want to laugh.

Kat Price
Katie Price is a fast-rising comedian who reached the finals of the LGBTQ Comedian of the Year award. In addition to this, she is also the resident host of the sell-out monthly comedy nights, Mazel Tov and Cocktails and Treif Comedy. She has performed across the UK and Israel, where she is a regular at the renowned Off the Wall comedy club and has performed to thousands as part of Tel Aviv Pride. She is currently performing at clubs across the UK, including, but not limited to: Ten Feet Tall, Brighton Komedia, Funhouse Comedy, XS Malarkey, Out of Bounds Comedy, Glee Comedy, Hilarity Bites Comedy and Backyard Comedy Club.

Jokes Only A Jew Can Tell C4 Digital 2022

To-die-for... Price does more than enough to prove she can write a good gag - Chortle
Excellent stage presence and pinpoint accurate writing. A British Sarah Silverman - Helen Lederer, BBC and David Morgan, Comedy Central
I dont often watch someone where I think I wish Id written that but I thought that about 15 times watching you, fast and fucking furious. Really brave - Scott Capurro

Nathan Tommis
Nathan's stand up primarily focuses on how weird the rest of the world is for not agreeing with him. He performs only when his anxiety permits him, and when he does so he has been described as "a bit like watching a very witty Tigger". He even hit the heights of "actually funny" from his own wife.

Emer McGinnity
Irish comedian Emer McGinnity's voice is fresher than those lemon handwipes you get on flights, and just as well travelled. Emer has been making waves on Irish and Scottish stages, having recently appeared on Monkey Barrel's Other Show, a celebration of queer and alternative comedy. Emer is set to blag her way through a spectacular 2023.

"A fever dream"
"A unique voice"
"Deranged, and I love it"

and Kieran Lawless
Kieran Lawless is an Irish comedian now based in Manchester. He has worked in comedy clubs across Ireland, the UK & Europe including supporting Patrick Kielty in Dublin's Olympia Theatre.

"Exceedingly entertaining, highly energised and side splittingly funny" - http://www.northwestend.co.uk/
Lawless ability to move seamlessly from joke to joke, story to story kept the crowd entertained and engaged throughout - The Comedy Scoop

with host Jonny Collins
An hour of jokes, musings and philosophies about gender, sexuality, and identity, from Blizzard Comedys own Jonny Collins. 11+ years in the game, theyre finally working on their first hour, delving into their own journey of self-discovery, the experiences of being a non-binary trans-femme individual in the modern day, and reflections on the very nature of how we perceive humanity.

Jonny is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified. XS Malarkey
"Jonny Collins is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen." James Ross (Quantum Leopard)

As always, this show is free to book, with a pay-what-you-want option on the door by either cash or card.

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this review has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
