Sam is a young Kiwi who discovers the thrill and adrenaline of following professional rugby. Like his dad before him, Sam quickly becomes addicted to the game. It all becomes too much after one particular game " New Zealand vs France, World Cup quarter final 2007. NZ loses, and Sam loses his mind. Domestically and internationally, rugby has become hardwired into New Zealand culture. Bleeding Black explores the consequences of that, addressing common social behaviours in NZ culture stemming from our love of rugby, asking the question: 'are we, as nations, too emotionally connected to our national sports?'
