Big Brother Hamlet takes the subjects of the all-powerful found in Shakespeares script " the King, the Ghost, the Church " and connects them with one of todays most all-powerful entities: surveillance technology. Set in the rising ocean waters of 2036, the kingdom of Denmark is destabilised by corrupt leadership, and surveillance technology gives the illusion of control. A chorus of hooded watchers serve as instruments of the state, projecting imagery that lends the play its appearance of facts, evidence and knowledge. Body scanners, drones and blades merge in this generational conflict.
