When corsets meet foot binding, Chinese shadow puppetry collides with Greek tragedy, funeral drums awaken political ghosts, and the past refuses to stay buried... chaos ensues. Set in a rural Northern Chinese village in the 1980s, Anti-Gone takes place on the final day of a three-day funeral. Polynikes spirit lingers, his brother waits in the afterlife and their sisters clash over memory, mourning and revenge. Children interrupt, coffins speak and ghosts wont rest. Blending absurdist humour with haunting surrealism, this explosive reimagining of Anti-Gone becomes a riotous reckoning of grief, family and resistance. Saturday performance in Mandarin Chinese.
