2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Catalan composer Federico Mompou's death. Born in 1893 and closely associated with French Impressionism (and the music of Faur and Satie), Mompou is essentially a miniaturist and his most celebrated works are all for solo piano. However, he did write the occasional work for other instruments and this concert presents his lesser-known chamber works for guitar, cello, voice and organ. With Matthew Sear (guitar), Siriol Hugh-Jones (cello), Arlene Rolph (mezzo soprano) and Johan de Cock (piano / organ).
