Since 2002, The Mercators, one of Edinburgh's longest established amateur drama groups have presented dramatised readings in period costume celebrating the lives of famous writers such as Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle and Jane Austen. This year we feature the three most famous (and sometimes infamous) poets of the early 19th century English romantic movement, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Keats. Their poems, lives, loves, tragedies and scandals are documented not only in their own words, but in the words of wives, lovers, friends, enemies and critics.
