Along the Silk Road: Haunting Uyghur Melodies
  • Edinburgh Fringe

The Silk Roads most driving and haunting folk music comes from Altai, the mountain crossroad of cultures where China, Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan meet. The mysterious music of the talented Uyghur and Kazak people combines Middle Eastern and traditional Chinese elements. Some western classics will also be played to suit the tastes of different audiences. The orchestra's performance at the Golden Hall, Vienna, was widely praised and acknowledged an excellent example of a Chinese wind band. You don't want to miss it!
