Alastair Savage has performed traditional and classical music throughout his life and is one of the country's leading fiddle exponents. A prize-winning Scots fiddle player, he has been a member of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for the past 17 years, travelling the world as a performer. His unique insight into Scots fiddle music traces the great composers of melodies including Niel Gow, William Marshall and James Scott Skinner alongside music from the Scottish Isles and his native Ayrshire homeland.
