2016 sees the release of Alastair's long-awaited fourth album and his first completely unaccompanied fiddle recording. Captured in the magnificent setting of Crathie Kirk next to Balmoral Castle, Alastair brings the first concert performances of the album to this year's festival. Featured highlights include Alastair's own Scenes from Gow in tribute to the lives of Niel and Nathaniel Gow, as well as Rabbie Burns. The music of James Scott Skinner is also included in recognition of Skinner's connection to Royal Deeside. A Scottish fiddle journey exploring the entrancing beauty of melody, ancient and modern.
