Six musicians perform a range of contemporary pieces from Middle Eastern and Asian cultures, including their own compositions and arrangements.
The Aga Khan Master Musicians were brought together by the Aga Khan Music Programme to explore how musical innovation can contribute to the revitalisation of cultural heritage. The groups members create and perform music inspired by their roots in the cultures of the Middle East and Mediterranean Basin, Central Asia, South Asia and China. They have appeared on the worlds most prestigious stages and been hailed for their endless diversity of musical styles (Independent) and exquisite performances (Songlines).
In the second of their two concerts at The Hub, six Master Musicians perform contemporary music from several countries, including pieces written by the ensemble. The world-class performers include the award-winning pipa player and composer Wu Man.
The Hub Series is supported by Sir Ewan and Lady Brown together with Flure Grossart
