A Little Bit of Pain Never Hurt Anyone
  • Adelaide Fringe

"Hello everyone my name is Doctor Billy and Im eight-and-three-quarters and this is my story. My friend is Jess and hes a stupid boy and he loves me to death, so we are going to go down down down together into the dark in our submarine so we can be strong independent women. My mum says I dont need a man, but she doesnt know anything. He promised he will never hurt me so everything is going to be perfect."In this new play by Brendan McDougall, we play with gender in a sandpit. We play with dads, both dead and dying, fertility and footballs as we try to work out how to close the gap between who we are and who we are told, from childhood, that we should be.
