Since 1975, when the great Brooklyn-born tenor Richard Tucker died, the foundation initiated in his name has fostered the careers of emerging American singers and brought opera to communities in the United States. Every year the Tucker foundation presents a gala concert featuring new and recent award winners and guest performances by major artists. This year's program looks typically enticing, with performances by Anna Netrebko, Isabel Leonard, Angela Meade, Marcello Giordani and Joseph Calleja. Also performing will be this year's Tucker Award winner, the exciting young tenor Michael Fabiano. Emmanuel Villaume conducts.
