West End Transfer for Vincent River starring Louise Jameson and Thomas Mahy

Serial hit producer Danielle Tarento and Charing Cross Theatre's head-honcho Steven M. Levy are bringing Park Theatre's 2018 production of Vincent River into the West End for a five week run at Trafalgar Studios 2.

The play is even more prophetic now than when it was first produced.

Returning with the show are both Louise Jameson and Thomas Mahy, both nominated for an Off West End Award for their performances last year, which for Mahy was his professional debut. Jameson will be familiar to a whole generation as Tom Baker's assistant Leela in Dr Who in the seventies and a string of TV roles over her 40-year career including Tenko, Bergerac and Eastenders.

Director Robert Chevara said “Vincent River is a modern classic and a dazzling, prescient piece of theatre. The play is even more prophetic now than when it was first produced. The murder of Jo Cox MP in 2016 shocked the nation and hate crimes have risen by 17% this last year alone. But hate crimes against LGBT people in the UK have surged over 78% in the last five years. One in five LGBT people have experienced a hate crime because of their sexual orientation in the last 12 months and four in five younger LGBT people have not reported the hate crimes they’ve endured, and are particularly reluctant to go to the police.”

Vincent River previews from 16th May at Trafalgar Studios 2, with press night on 21st May.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.
