Max Scratchmann is a poet, promoter and performer. He currently runs and co-hosts the Poetry Circus as well as being an illustrator, travel writer and puppeteer.

What are you up to this Fringe?

I'm performing with Alec Beattie in a darkly comic spoken owrd show called Edinburgh in the Shadows at the Pilgrim Bar just off the Cowgate from 8th August to 18th August at 1:45 pm daily, plus the Poetry Circus are presenting their Fringe Show – Talking Animals – with myself, Emily Elver, Jemima Foxtrot, Jo Harrison and Claire Balfour at Woodland Creatures, Leith Walk, on 11th August. Plus catch me doing guest spots in any number of fantastic poetry and cabaret shows and culminating at the Poetry Circus tent on Portobello Prom on August 29th from 12 noon to 4pm.

The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
