What:Broken Glass by Arthur Miller

Where: New Venture Theatre

When: 15 May 14:30 12-14, 16-21 May 19:45

Why: Nominated for a Tony Award in 1994, Arthur Miller’s play focuses on a NYC couple at the time of Kristallnacht in Nazi Germany. New Venture Theatre’s excellent reputation for high quality work is embodied by director David Thacker, who worked in close collaboration with Arthur Miller on the original and directed the premier at the Royal National Theatre in 1994. This could definitely be something special.


What: Confessions of a Redheaded Coffeeshop Girl

Where: Sweet Waterfront 1

Why: Just take a look at this list of awards: Audience Choice Award (New York City Stage Buddy), Audience Choice (NYC Frigid Fest), Outstanding Performer (NOW Magazine Toronto), Outstanding Production (NOW Magazine Toronto), Solo Performance Jenny Award (Winnipeg Fringe), Best Fringe Festival Production (BroadwayWorld). Confessions of a Redheaded Coffeeshop Girl has sold out 12 runs in 10 cities around the world and is short-listed for the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence. Need we say more?

Why: Hungry Wolf Visionary Youth Theatre have been making quite a name for themselves in the past few years with a host of five star reviews for their work. Working with 16-21 year olds, they’ve established themselves as the leading company in the South East for young actors. Armed with a script by award-winning writer Izzy Tennyson, written exclusively for the company, this is an incredible youth cast with a hard-hitting play.


What: In Conversation with an Acid Bath Murderer

Where: Old Police Cells Museum

When: 6-7, 12-14, 19-21 May 18:00 6-7, 12-14, 19-21 May 19:30

Why: This show received a five star Broadway Baby review last week. With a perfect setting and a riveting production our reviewer said ‘If you’ve never been to the Old Police Cell Museum then give yourselves a grisly treat and get into the mind of a mad murderer before he puts his neck into the noose for the final time’.

When: 13-21 May 20:00

Why: It’s 1976 and rookie Police Cop Jimmy Johnson is out to avenge his brother’s death. With the help of a retired renegade, impressive physical theatre and uncompromising facial hair, this is a cinematic joyride.
