Pepperdine Scotland's Interference wins first Bobby Award at EdFringe 2016 by Levi Bailey

Our exclusive Bobby Award has found its first EdFringe home, in the hands on Pepperdine Scotland for their 5-star show Interference at C venues.

Broadway Baby Editor Henry St Leger handed over the Bobby to the cast immediately following their performance on 12th August. This is hot on the heels of a Fringe First win for the company on the same day.

Broadway Baby reviews more shows at the Fringe than anyone else, and we have a large crop of outstanding five-star shows. The Bobby is there to recognise the best-of-the-best, and Interference was a unanimous victor amongst our judging panel of senior editors.

There are no set number of Bobby Awards, but a typical year will only see four or five trophies handed over.

The Bobby is modelled on the iconic Greyfriar's Bobby, and stands for 'Best on Broadway Baby'.

Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
