Brigitte Aphrodite describes herself as a punk pop poet showgirl who was on the 2009 shortlist for the Musical Comedy awards - but she’s almost impossible to categorise. Her latest show, My Beautiful Black Dog is a brave autobiographical memoir of her depression, whilst still keeping all of her usual love for colour, fashion and of course sparkle. She talks to Adrian Bradley about why it’s so important to talk about depression, how social media makes it harder to avoid reviews, and why glitter is just so hard to get rid of.
