Arches LIVE, the annual festival of new performances and artwork by some of Scotland’s most exciting creative talent returns to Glasgow’s The Arches this October.
Question the relationship between technology and loneliness...
Including several performances devised for a single audience member, isolation and intimacy are key strands of the work making up this year’s festival. “Our artists offer a deeply personal insight into role of the individual in society and examine the ways connectivity is simultaneously bringing us together and pulling us apart,” according to The Arches’ Artistic Director, Jackie Wylie.
Audiences this year will be invited to experience “the private made public, to question the relationship between technology and loneliness, and to reflect on the function of wellness and self-help”.
Previous productions at Arches LIVE–including Amy and Rosana Cade’s Sister, and Peter McMaster’s Wuthering Heights, have since toured nationally and appeared as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
“In the spirit of helping yourself, we encourage everyone to experience the festival as a whole by taking advantage of theFestival and Day Passes,” adds Wylie. “By far the best way to experience Arches LIVE is to catch a few shows each night and dip into the lively discussion in the festival bar between performances.”
