It’s all too easy for visitors to Edinburgh in August to get caught up in a bubble. You spend all your time in venues or festival bars and never see life beyond. Heck, even walking up Arthur’s Seat has appeared in the EdFringe Programme. So if you and your friends are looking for an activity that’s not part of the festival, but a little more adventurous than taking the bus to Ocean Terminal then give Escape Hunt a look.
Looking for an activity that's not part of the festival, but a little more adventurous than taking the bus to Ocean Terminal?
Edinburgh has six adventures to choose from – four indoor, and two that have you racing across the city. You could go in search of Blackbeard’s fabled loot; channel your inner Thor; go cowboy in the Wild West; defeat an evil Samurai warlord; save the world from the creatures pouring through a magic portal or step into the midst of an undercover spy operation in the completely new game, Mindfall. From cryptic word play to physical dexterity, players must work as a team to beat the clock and break out of the room, before celebrating their win (or commiserating their loss) in the premium lounge with its well-stocked bar.
Open to teams of between two and six players for indoor games, or two to four players for outdoor games, Escape Hunt Edinburgh is the ideal way for friends – or a bunch of actors – to bond in a fun and exciting challenge. Each game begins with a mission briefing from your Games Master, followed by an hour to crack a series of themed clues and puzzles - or two hours for the outdoor games.
Games are suitable for players aged 10 or over (players under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). For indoor games it costs £25 per person for groups of two or three, or £20 per person for groups of four to six. On outdoor games it's £45 per team. Pre book at escapehunt.com/uk/edinburgh
