The Rooster is a Palestinian/Lebanese production influenced by thrilling Palestinian dabke folk dance, conveying the sociopolitical experience of the region through the character of Al-Deek, the rooster. The piece features music by El-Funoun and Syrian poetry by Nizar Qabbani, and uses the characteristics of Al-Deek to examine chauvinism and dictatorship. Partial Memory is an intimate dance solo. Ata Khattab reveals memories of childhood in occupied Palestine, seeing his father frequently imprisoned. It is a dialogue of movement, words and images of Ata and his father, reflecting on the subjects of childhood, manhood and love.
