The Amish Project (Ensemble Version), a story of grace and healing, is a fictionalized account of the shooting at an Amish school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 2006. In this ensemble production, performers tell the story through monologues of victims, witnesses, and the shooter. Amish communities live separately from todays world, without electricity and automobiles, and live peacefully with each other. This moving play focuses not on the violence that all people are vulnerable to, but rather on the power of community to rise above tragedy and even forgive when many would find such actions unforgivable.
