Pascal Rioult and his artistic partner (and wife), Joyce Herring, danced for the Martha Graham Dance Company. Their own troupe - celebrating its 20th anniversary - proudly bears the mark of that pioneer and modern dance, with a capital M. Their company's weeklong engagement at the Joyce Theater will feature two programs, with Graham's "El Penitente," from 1940, and May O'Donnell's "Suspension" (1943). There will also be a sampling of Mr. Rioult's creations, including "Views of the Fleeting World" (2008); "Wien" (1995), a clever riff on the waltz; and a premiere, set to music by Tchaikovsky. A gala will take place on Wednesday.
