If you, like me, are skeptical on the subject of the existence of ghosts, go and see Paul Gannon Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghost. If you do believe in ghosts, go and see Paul Gannon Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghost.
In this show, Paul Gannon simply tells us his story of becoming a ghost hunter. It starts with Paul’s obsession with Ghostbusters as a child; his teenage experiences of doing his own ghost-hunting; his abandonment of it to join the real world; and then his post-suicide attempt decision to get out there and do what he wanted to do. To chase the supernatural. What Paul (and subsequently the audience) then learned about ghost-hunting and its practices turned out to be really very interesting and things that even myself - a self-admitted paranormal skeptic - would be quite keen to try. Paul has some very convincing evidence that ghosts exist, but you’ll have to see the show if you want to witness it. Following prolonged paranormal discussion, Paul then moves on to tell us of his television career and theatrical touring - proof that you never really know where life (or a spoken word show) will take you.
What is so likeable about Paul is that convincing the audience that ghosts exist is not his aim. He merely wants to tell his story, and it just so happens to be about ghost hunting. He is a switched-on, down-to-earth individual who really has a passion for something. He is also,it just so happens, an extremely talented storyteller.
Paul’s show is a genuinely inspirational one. Whilst one may not necessarily be inspired to take up ghosthunting after watching it, the message of Paul’s show is clear: If you have a passion for something, you should follow it. He may even have convinced me of the existence of ghosts! Spooky!
