In Robert Callely's overstuffed new drama, set in the 1980s, a family's tranquility is blown to smithereens when Tony (Timothy John Smith) discovers that his longtime girlfriend, Chris (Antoinette Thornes), used to be a man. Michael Parva's calm direction, and Mr. Smith's sensitive performance lower the play's high emotional pitch, but Chris's pain and passion never feel genuine (2:00).
