A renaissance, this company is calling it: After bankruptcy and a protracted legal battle, the name, at least, has returned. Just like the old City Opera, the new one begins with "Tosca," in a re-creation of the original 1900 production of Puccini's classic. Pacien Mazzagatti conducts two casts: Kristin Sampson (Tosca), James Valenti (Cavaradossi) and Michael Chioldi (Scarpia) on Wednesday; and Latonia Moore (Tosca), Raffaele Abete (Cavaradossi) and Carlo Guelfi (Scarpia) on Thursday. Further performances through Jan. 24.
