Leading psychiatrist Stephen Lawrie has heard enough talk about mental health stigma. Campaigns to make it okay to speak out are great, but they will struggle to get anywhere unless they recognise that mental health really is mental! And physical, at the same time! No other area of medicine is so controversial, because no other area of medicine is so complicated. Mental illness will never be accepted just like any other illness because its not like any other illness. And maybe all the talk about mental health stigma is just increasing it. Do you agree?
