Alternative retrospective of gay film-maker, writer and artist Derek Jarman. 2014 sees the 20th anniversary of Jarmans death. This performance piece encapsulates the essence of Jarmans life, work and legacy through the social and cultural prism of the 1940s-1990s, from post-war austerity through the liberated sixties and seventies to the eighties era of Aids and Thatcherism. A cubist portrayal capturing Jarmans poetic visual imagery, love of Super 8 film and enduring creative individualism. Featuring original film, electronic music score, live cabaret songs and spoken word extracts performed by electropop duo Project Adorno. Blast off to Planet Jarmania!
