Trav S.D.'s script, produced by Theater Askew, both honors and derides Adah Isaacs Menken, a hopeless 19th-century actress with a genius for self-promotion. The play, under Elyse Singer's sympathetic direction, can't commit to drama or camp, but Molly Pope, an assured performer with a brazen alto, takes the title role by the reins (2:20).
