All are invited to an event hosted by the Mayor of Lewisham that commemorates the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks, Essex, in June 1948. The ship brought more than 500 migrants from the Caribbean and the event celebrates the contributions of the Windrush generation to rebuilding Britain after WWII. Also, listen to empowering stories about 'Uncle George' in Lewisham from the summer of 1948 to the 1950s.
The evening of inspiration and heritage will include tributes, music and song.
