Last year, New Yorkers welcomed back Dance Theater of Harlem after nearly a decade away from the stage. The troupe continues moving forward with an eye to history: "past-carry-forward," created by alumni of the company, examines the African-American experience in the early 20th century, from the Great Migration to the Harlem Renaissance. Robert Garland's well-received "Gloria" returns, along with the revival of his "New Bach," joining work by Ulysses Dove and "Pas de Dix," an excerpt from the 19th-century classic ballet "Raymonda."
