The premise of this show is about the experience of a camp gay man, and his frustration when he meets someone striaght-acting and closeted. Menno finds it hard to cope with the feelings that he is having for the army captain by having to butch up and suppress his inner femininity.
This is an amusing show, although the humour tends to rely on stereotypes and prejudices. But it's performed well, with the only weaknesses stemming from the writing rather than performance.
Coming at the subject matter from the other end, I found it quite hard to sympathise with our protagonist, especially as he was as guilty of stereotyping a wee bit too much. And since that seemed to be the root cause of his own problems, it didn't sit too comfortably with me.
But still, an amusing way to spend an hour. If youre a camp gay man then you will probably love it, if youre not then you'll still enjoy it.
