As Brighton Fringe gears up for 2016, Broadway Baby offers a preview of the shows, the people and the world that is Brighton Fringe. We’ve been speaking to participants from around the Fringe and asked them to give us an insight into their shows.

Tell us a bit about yourself

One day in The Enchanted Forest, a passing wind tickled the highest and hardest to reach branch of the tallest tree. Nine months later, out of an acorn, I was born. Are there any other questions?

Can you tell us a little bit about your show, what can we expect?

The show is a pixie-fuelled comedy riot; a 'best of' selection of my stand-up comedy routines, stories from my life in the forest and my time in Brighton and Hove having travelled there on the back of a seagull. There's music, video projection, interactive bits… saying more would spoil the surprises!

Why did you decide to perform your show at the Brighton Fringe?

I thought that there wasn't enough entertainment out there for all generations of a family to enjoy together. Today everyone is so separated looking at their apple phones, rather than sharing an experience in the moment. My show is like a real, actual apple. It's shiny, is good for your health and sometimes contains little creatures.

What makes your show different?

Usually if people want to see stand-up, they have to leave the children at home. My comedy is for all. Plus I'm a real pixie, which adds real magic for the kids.

Who would enjoy seeing your show?

Anyone, especially 5+

What has been the best advice you have been given?

Never trust a Troll.

What show, apart from yours, would you recommend at the Brighton Fringe and why?

Sh*tfaced Shakespeare. I love Shakespeare, I love fermented beverages; this show combines those two great things.

What do you think audiences will enjoy the most about your show?

The fun-splosions. Of which there will be many. Perhaps one of the best is in the middle of the show. It contains lots of different characters from everyone's favourite kids stories and films.

Do you have a website or Facebook page where audiences can find further information?

Yes! Right here at www.facebook.com/twigthepixie. Thanks for the interview human!

Twig the Pixie is appearing at the Komedia Studio 7, 14 May (13:30) and 28 May (13:00).
