What do people need to know about you?
I shall just be spending ALL my free time at shows on the Free Fringe
I am an Olivier award-nominated actor and the Winner of THE STAGE "Best Solo Performer, 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival” Award. I trained at RADA (where I won the Bancroft Gold Medal), and have played leading roles at the RSC, National Theatre, in the West End and in film, TV and radio.
What are you up to this Fringe?
I'm doing three shows per day this festival. At Assembly (Baillie Room) 11am each day of the festival I'll be performing Wilde Without the Boy, which is Gareth Armstrong’s dramatisation of “De Profundis”, Oscar Wilde’s passionate letter to his lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, written from Wilde’s Reading Gaol cell. Two years previously, Wilde had been imprisoned for gross indecency. I'll then be zooming over to the Electric Circus (Venue 98), Lizard Lounge, to for a 2pm performance of "The Ballad of Reading Gaol", Oscar Wilde’s beautiful poem reflecting on his two years’ hard labour, a fellow inmate’s hanging and man’s bestial punishment of man. All funds raised will go to Amnesty International UK. Then I'm hot-footing it back to Assembly for a 4:30pm performance Shakespeare's astonishing narrative poem "The Rape of Lucrece", for which I won The Stage Award for Best Solo Performance at the 2011 Fringe. All three of these shows are directed by the brilliant Gareth Armstrong
What else are you going to see?
I shall see EVERYTHING Monkey Poet does. I just love him. So ridiculously talented. Other than that I shall just be spending ALL my free time at shows on the Free Fringe and at Assembly. I intended to nourish my soul by gorging on all the brilliant talent on display.
What is your favourite word?
